coonong wildlife sanctuary

Coonong is a proud native wildlife sanctuary. Located on the Protected Native Grasslands of the Hay Plains in south-east Australia, we enjoy a diverse and healthy native wildlife population that we protect through numerous native wildlife conservation and rehabilitation programs.

Our preference is to work with Native Wildlife, stocking paddocks so as not to harm the natural habitat and encourage rehabilitation and regeneration of native populations.

We also provide a place where injured animals and birds can recover and rehabilitate, before returning to the wild.

"NOTHING GREAT IN THE WORLD HAS EVER BEEN ACCOMPLISHED WITHOUT PASSION."

GEORG WILHELM FRIEDRICH HEGEL

We put all our energy and time in caring for the animals, so that we can release them back into the wild. It is not a hobby it is a passion and a great feeling to see them going back and have a second chance to be out in the wild where they should be.

"Our main objective is to prevent or relieve the suffering of animals by operating a sanctuary for injured or displaced animals"
